  • Teacher Leadership in English Language Arts (ELA) – As an ELA teacher of eight years, Casey has served as a grade leader, mentor, and professional development and lab site coordinator. He has also served as a school representative to three Teachers College (TC) Leadership groups on topics such as grammar, word study, conferring, and the use of technology in reading and writing instruction.
  • Elementary and Middle School Curriculum Design – Casey has developed and co-developed reading and writing curricula for elementary and middle schools. He has contributed to professional development and literacy consulting work.
  • Teaching Students with Unique Needs – Having worked extensively with special education students and English language learners, Casey has experience assessing students, differentiating instruction, as well as writing and modifying individual education plans.
  • Extracurricular and Enrichment Program Management – As program director and in partnership with other teachers and administrators, Casey has introduced extracurricular programming in visual arts, chess, martial arts and boxing, basketball, and peer tutoring.
