About Test (Overview)
Founded in 2013, Unity Preparatory Charter School of Brooklyn (Unity) is a tuition-free, open-enrollment, independent charter school that offers a college-preparatory education in the liberal arts & sciences to over 500 students in grades 6-12. Our middle school campus is in Bedford-Stuyvesant and our high school campus is in Williamsburg.
Unity’s core purpose is to provide all students with an exceptional, college preparatory education that empowers them to lead fulfilling lives. In line with this purpose, a Unity education is best described as personalized, inclusive, well-rounded, and keenly focused on each child’s long-term growth as skillful learners and whole-hearted human beings.

RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Unity’s focus is on accelerating growth and on cultivating long-term academic and overall success. This focus has reaped impressive results for our students and families. Among the school’s recent accomplishments:
GRADES 6-8
In 2024, Unity students in grades 6-8 performed better in math, reading & writing, and science than the average student in key districts of comparison and the state of New York.





GRADES 9-12
In 2024, Unity High earned Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Roll status with the College Board for delivering results for students while broadening access to AP courses. Specifically, Unity’s Class of 2024 achieved the following:
100% of graduates completed at least one AP course while in grades 9-12
26% of graduates earned college credit while in high school (vs. the national average of 21%)
21% of graduates completed at least 5 AP courses while in grades 9-12
93% 4-year graduation rate (vs. citywide rate of 85%)
COLLEGE & CAREER
Notable achievements for our Class of 2024 include:
100% of graduates earned admission to college
91% of graduates enrolled in college this fall including Barnard College, Howard University, Hunter College, Ithaca College, University of Rochester, Morehouse College, and City College of New York.
