APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025–2026 SCHOOL YEAR ARE STILL OPEN

The Unity Scoop – June 19

Dear Families of Unity,

It has been a festive week, marked by end-of-year Regents exams, our middle school graduation, and New York City’s celebration of the Knicks’ NBA Championship victory!

Congratulations to our students for their hard work and perseverance during Regents season, to our graduates as they reach this important milestone, and to Knicks fans everywhere as the city comes together to celebrate an unforgettable championship run!

In the coming week, Unity High students will complete Regents exams and celebrate the 12th grade graduation of our Class of 2026 on Friday morning at St. Francis College in downtown Brooklyn.

In this edition of The Unity Scoop, we’re excited to share a collection of photos from our 8th grade graduation celebration, along with additional highlights from this year’s Roundtable presentations. We also provide updates on services and resources available to families this summer, and other relevant updates from last week’s edition.

I hope you enjoy a meaningful and joyful Juneteenth with family, friends, and loved ones.

And well wishes to the fathers in our community – Happy Father’s Day!

In unity,
Josh

Our 8th grade students completed the NYS Science Exam, while our high school students wrapped up a demanding round of AP exams, including AP Seminar, AP Pre-Calculus, AP English Language and Composition, and AP Computer Science. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, focus, and perseverance throughout the week.

In this week’s Unity Scoop, you’ll find:

  • Our science students presenting during our HS Science Fair
  • April Students of the Month
  • Early highlights from College Signing Day
  • Athletics highlights from the track field
  • Our staff showing off their artistic talents

12. Recap – Excellence in Action: Celebrating Our Student-Athletes!

Unity High’s girls volleyball team hosted two home matches this week, showcasing focus, energy, and strong team spirit. This young and talented group continues to grow with each match—an exciting season lies ahead.

Unity High student-athletes also gave back to the community, volunteering their time to mentor students at PS 44 and support their development in basketball. Through this experience, students built leadership, responsibility, and communication skills while serving as positive role models for younger scholars.

At the middle school, our rugby team took part in a spirited match against teachers and staff. As a new offering this year, rugby is building excitement while helping students—and staff—learn the game and strengthen community connections.
